busses= danger

I've been going to post this for a long time, so here is the story of one Saturday.

I needed to send my friend some pictures.  So I ordered them from the Walgreens in town....which meant that I had to go to town.

crazy asians

Going to town around here (haha, that's a silly thing to say cuz town isn't really near here) means taking a 2hr bumpy bus ride....not exactly something you do lightly.

But here it was, a Saturday, I had studied until noon and decided to go into town after lunch.

At lunch i saw a friend who decided to tag along. So the two of us started out to the bus stop (a little later than I'd planned, but hey, now I had company).
Here was the plan:
Go to Town
Pick up the pictures
Tour Iolani palace
Get back on the bus and back to campus in time for a 7:30 concert
the end

Well the bus was an hour late.  Then it took 2.5 hours to get to town...so when we got to the walgreens it was 3:30.  Iolani palace stops selling tickets at 4 and we were planning to walk a mile to Iolani palace. So we walked.
Oh, we saw Elder Missionaries on the way.

BUT we got to the ticket booth at 5 after.  So we walked a mile back to the Walgreens....
oh, it was raining.  We were wearing flip-flops.  Have you ever noticed that it is harder to walk through puddly rain in flip-flops?  Well, it is.  We were in a hurry, so we walked a mile....barefoot....shoes in hand.  =)
So we get to Walgreens, and they don't have my pictures.  Nicole tries to get email conformation from her phone, or at least make it so I can submit the order, but the internet was SLOW and then her phone died.
Then we walked across the street to get the bus which was an hour and a half late. We still would have made it to the concert in time- the busdriver was really good, fast but not the kind that'll make you sick on the ride.  HOWEVER- about 10 miles away from campus, a rock came pelting through the window.

RIGHT accross from me.

The Bus driver:  "I have bad news and I have worse news.  Bad news: I have to stay to fill out a police report.  Worse news: the next bus doesn't come for another hour and twenty minutes."
So a few people started walking and calling people to come get us.
Made it about a mile and got picked up by a friend with a car.  haha!

oh, it's still raining

GOT TO THE CONCERT....right as intermission was ending

still had to pay $3 to get in.  Well, there you go.
