Marley and Me

Marley.  Not the dog.  Not Bob.
Marley my cousin.

I got to watch her while the rest of her family went to the Temple.  We walked together from the Temple to my house.  (I later found out that just about everyone I know saw us and wasn't sure whether it was me or not. "Aria, were you with a little person today?" "I thought that was you, but you had a kid with you.")
We flew kites on the beach, we talked, we played Monopoly deal, we made a lei, we chased down her parents-
It was a nice few hours.  Her family left some food and Melona Bars for me and then I saw them on Saturday.

After a few friends went and spent a few hours at Waimea,
Ready for a 'cool video' mom?  ;)

I met up with Mailie, Miah, Izzy and Marley (the fam) and we snorkeled Shark's Cove.  Weird swells going on, but it was alright.

With finals and everything I was up to, I didn't get to see these guys again until Friday.  I got down to Kualoa to watch the performance for Izzy's Kamehameha Schools Immersion Program.
We played on the beach, I took some pictures for them, we ate some good local short-ribs...

They did their Meles (chants) and then we got to see what they'd learned through the week.  They were showing us about the stars.  Izzy played the part of the sun on the (red line) Horizon.

He's a good sun ;)

This is a Mele Pana, or Mele 'Aina, which means it's a 'land chant' which means that it's talking about the land.....like 'sweet home alabama'.  The kids made the sticks that they're using.

This is Hawaii's state song.  I totally know...like half of it.  I'm learning.

Then we went to Haleiwa and got Shaveice- BUT not before we stopped at Ted's Bakery to get a pie for Mailie's Birthday.
