There is a lot of excitement at our workplace.
My friend Matthew is helping figure out how to make a ring for our friend's (as of next Thursday) fiancee because the real ring isn't going to make it in time. Cami tried it on to check the size and we joked that Matthew should get down on one knee to prepare for when he has to do it. He says he isn't ready for that. We pointed out that everyone says that and then BAM! Like our friends Aaron and Melinda. Their proposal is on facebook. Matthew logs on to show it to those who hadn't seen it.
He wasn't expecting to see pornography on his wall, but it was there.
I am so glad that I work with a man who literally jumped at the sight.
He had his hand over the screen and was frazzled, didn't know what to do, wanted to get away from it and see something good without exposing himself to that again. He was scared.
I was standing behind him and was able to help him navigate to the proposal video without filth. But once it was done he didn't want to go back to his news feed and be assaulted. He didn't know who had posted it and he wanted to get rid of the 'friend' (aka- idiot) so this wouldn't happen. Poor Matthew. Couldn't do it. So I did.
I grew up in Vegas. I know how to focus on good. I found the friend- a girl, by the way- I deleted her and blocked her and hopefully nothing like this will ever be a problem again.
Matthew- "I'm so sorry. I'm really sensitive to this stuff. You guys are girls, they're your parts not mine so thank you for dealing with it." Impressive.
MORAL OF THE STORY
When you want to get something bad out of your head it is not enough to think of a happy place. It isn't enough to sing a primary song. It is not enough to look at pictures of Christ. You need to go in the completely opposite direction. You need to think of the Miracles in your life. For Matthew I told him to picture the people he served on his mission and the miracles that he has been a part of in the lives of the people he served. You need to listen to a song that is Spirit Packed. Something that was meant to stand on it's own and be POWERFUL.

For me, something I've participated in. The above songs I've done, but I'm actually a part of this video:
How Great Thou Art
I am so very grateful that it happened here, where there are girls around, instead of when he was home with his roommates. Not that I think anything more terrible would have happened, but that isn't something I would want him to deal with on his own. Here we were able to take care of it as much as possible.
It was gross. It could have been worse. I really do not like Satan.
What a great friend you are, and what a great person this guy is. What a great therapist you are, and what a great sister I have. <3 you.
