surprise

The Concert Choir concert was tonight.   It went well.   It really bothered me that they didn't turn the houselights all the way off.  We sang (I played) 'The Lord is My Shepherd' by John Rutter which you can listen to in this post- but it isn't us singing, this is some random recording.  It was alright; not terrible, but not my best....at all.  I wasn't feeling super fantastic; more like I'd been hit by a truck.  My back....does not have good communication skills so I don't know what it's problem is.  I could see the dang audience watching me which did not make me comfortable at all.  So not cool.  I sounded great, I just didn't play it right.  Dangit.

We changed costumes during the performance.  I knew my black/white "formal" outfit was big on me- I was given a different dress this year than I had last season.  But when I put on my "Aloha" wear, which is the same outfit from last year....

This is Aloha Wear.  You can't really
tell, but it fits well.

It was HUGE.
I was helping pin up Abby's skirt and I mentioned that mine was a bit big.
"Yeah, I can imagine.  You've lost a lot of weight just this semester and you've used this since last fall."
I never realized.....

I came home and looked at my closet
This was before Cali got here....so this
is my stuff when it was organized.
it does not usually look like this
I pulled out my Hula skirt.
I have a hand-painted Hula skirt that my mom bought SUPER cheap at goodwill one day a very long time ago.  AMAZING skirt!  Really well made, super traditional.
But- it doesn't fit. :(
forgive the mirror portrait.

Only, it does now.

I'm not suddenly very skinny.  I would have noticed that.   I mean, I hope I would have noticed; but I can't really tell, after all, this took me by surprise.

I should actually take a Hula class now.
I want to tell you about Ultimate Frisbee....but I'm waiting for pictures.
