Joseph and Hyrum

On June 27th, 1844, the Prophet Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum Smith were murdered in Carthage Jail.  (or is it martyred?  they are martyrs....hmmm)

 The above article was written by Willard Richards, my great-great-great-great-grandfather. 

A year before his martyrdom, the Prophet Joseph Smith told his friend and personal secretary, Dr Willard Richards, that 'the time will come when balls will fly around Willard like hail, and he would see his friends fall on the right and on the left, but there would not be a hole in Willard's garments.' (sic)
This was the day, in 1844, when this promise was fulfilled.
